Academic Support

Academic Support services include peer 1-on-1 tutoring and drop-in tutoring services throughout the school year. Students are also able to work with a professional staff member one on one to develop their time management, note-taking, studying, goal setting, test-taking skills and more. Additionally, students can register for the academic success skills course titled STDV 10800: Experiments in Effective Learning. Please contact academicdevelopment@hiram.edu with any questions.

Academic Advising 

The goal of advising at Hiram College is to support the whole student, fostering their academic, personal, and professional development over their career at Hiram. The Academic Advising Office supports Hiram College’s advising system and provides convenient drop-in or online advising support for all students. If you have a question about advising—or even about who your advisor is—stop by the Academic Advising Office in Hinsdale 205 or contact them at academicadvising@hiram.edu

Career Development
Visit the Career Development website for information on career development, including career advising, resume building, interviewing, and job coaching that can help you prepare for a new career or a career change. The office also offers workshops to Hiram College students. You can make an appointment for an in-person or phone conference by phone, 330-569-5131, or by dropping by the Career Center on the main floor of the Kennedy Center (near the restrooms).

Disability Services
To arrange for support services, a student must submit appropriate, current, detailed documentation to the office of Disability Services together with a completed Requests for Academic Adjustments, Auxiliary Aids, and Services form. After verification and in the spirit of federal law, the student will provide the accommodations letter from the office of Disability Services to each faculty member(s) to initiate accommodation services. Faculty are not permitted to make accommodations without the authorization of the Director of Counseling, Health, and Disability Services (CHDS). Hiram College adheres to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act to provide requested services for disabled students as specified by the requirements contained in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) policy guidelines. Dray Technology Center
This link provides you with information on various Hiram College technology resources and how to access them. If you have questions about technology, such as, but not limited to password issues or iPad issues, visit the Hiram College Online Helpdesk or contact the Hiram College Dray Help Desk by e-mail, helpdesk@hiram.edu, phone, 330-569-5313. You can also visit in person on the second floor of Hinsdale Hall. If your question cannot be addressed immediately, a ticket will be created and tracked until the issue is resolved.

Hiram College Bookstore

Hiram College Library
The Hiram College Library offers access to online academic texts and links to additional online resources that can assist you with general writing needs and writing research papers in particular. Many books, CDs, and DVDs are available for checkout to Hiram College students, and resources at other Ohio institutions can be requested via OhioLink. Just use your student ID! The online OneSource tool allows you to search multiple databases simultaneously for the best search results. Tech and Trek Help Desk

The Tech and Trek Help Desk can assist you with all your iPad needs, including replacement devices, troubleshooting issues, and more.  The Tech and Trek Help Desk is located in the lower level of the Hiram College Library and can be reached by email at techandtrek@hiram.edu or by phone at 330-569-6040.
